The Georgia Bulldogs are Cooking Up an Undefeated Season
The DAWGS are ready to wreak havoc somewhere besides the road this season. Here’s my regular season breakdown of players to watch and projected game scores. Call me biased all you want, but the DAWGS are making waves this season.
Gunner Stockton is once again leading the charge for the Bulldogs for his final season in Athens. Stockton really stepped in last season and made some big time plays in big time moments. My favorite play from last year has to be the 4th and 6th over the shoulder dot to London Humphreys that would help tie UGA to the Volunteers (and win in OT). Without that throw, UGA goes to 2–1 on the season. Stockton has the guts to play the position, now we just need him to take less hits and be willing to throw a check down. I have high expectations from Stockton and feel like he’ll deliver.
The UGA offense did suffer some losses on the line with guys like Monroe Freeling and Drew Bobo declaring for the draft. We also saw the UGA WR core immediately depleted with the loss of Branch, Young, Bell and several other offensive weapons. Kirby will without a doubt have an offensive squad ready to face this year’s schedule. I have high expectations for the RB room in Frazier and Bowens and expect Humphreys to lead the receiver core. I hope to see Elyiss Williams and Lawson Luckie absolutely dominate at the TE position.
Defensively, the Bulldogs are strong across the defensive front with guys like Xavier McLeod and Elijah Griffin. I expect BIG things from guys like Chris Cole , KJ Bolden and Ellis Robinson IV.
The last two seasons have left Georgia fans wanting more explosive offensive plays and the juggernaut defense we’ve grown accustomed to from Kirby Smart. This season, Georgia has some heavy hitting opponents, but I think we’ll see Georgia make strides in the post season. Only time will tell.
